Local Pastor (half time)

Karen is completing her final year of seminary after a 20-year career in journalism. Our minister of worship and fellowship develops congregational activities, assists with and conducts worship services, teaches, and coordinates lay liturgists with an emphasis on prayer and application of scripture.

Karen relates easily to faith seekers of all ages and backgrounds. Drawing on her path toward service, she is able and willing to help guide those who feel God’s call. Karen combines her extensive writing background with her passion for the spoken word to lead First Church’s Lay Liturgist worship group.

Teaching others how to pray “prayers of the people,” witnessing transformation as her students express the thoughts, concerns and gratitude of the church, inspires Karen in her own daily theological pursuits.
