Your old shoes can support families in need and raise funds for First Church’s global mission trips!
During the months of September and October, the Global Missions team is collecting your gently used shoes. These shoes will be sent to developing countries to support a program that trains local people to clean and repair the shoes as a small business. They are then sold to the community, providing an affordable option for shoes and giving the shoe repairer’s family much needed income.
Shoes need to be in wearable condition (nothing that’s falling apart) and be matching pairs. There will be collection bins at the Commit table in Linder Hall, or shoes can be dropped off in the church office during the week. The more shoes we collect, the more money we raise for scholarships for our 2018 mission trips to Ensenada and Tanzania. If you have questions, please contact Pastor Melissa at .
