Volunteer Opportunities

Each of us is given gifts to be used for the work of the church—Christ’s ministry in the world.

We rely on the work of volunteers for the things that happen at the church—from singing in choirs to mailing the newsletter, and from visiting homebound members to serving on church committees.

Below are job descriptions for some current volunteer “openings”—there are lots of ways for you to be involved at First Church!

Two new volunteer opportunities: (September 2008)

Nametags
Once a month volunteers are needed to assist in filling out Nametags on New Member Sundays. All that is required are warm, friendly and outgoing personalities. All times in between services are needed. It is about a 30 minute commitment for each occasion.

Please contact Beckett Kirk at bkirk@fumcsd.org or (619) 297-4366 x-500.

Welcome Center
We welcome volunteers to serve at the Welcome Center on the north side of the Sanctuary. Your ministry role is to greet people as if they are Christ in our midst, answer questions about the church and assist visitors in finding their way around campus. Time Commitment: About 30 minutes between services. Once a month or on a frequency of your choice.
