Prayers & Squares Fall Workshop
Workshop Special Event
Join us for our annual fall workshop! We'll spend two days together sewing, learning, being inspired, and having fun. We have a lovely new quilt pattern to learn to make, and a wonderful leader to guide as as we sew. If you don't want to bring your sewing machine and make a quilt top, you'll still find work for your hands: layering prayer quilts and putting in the ties.
Cost is $25 for both days, or $15 for one day, and includes lunch! We’ll also have door prizes during lunch.
Register for Friday, Saturday, or both days!
This year's Speaker: Jo Vroman
Jo has been sewing for most of her life, having learned from her mother and grandmother. She finds that quilting, focusing on one block at a tlme, settles her mind after a long day. She recently retired from a 45-year career in nursing administration and has made quilting a full-time endeavor. She describes her quilting style as traditional, primarily working on pieced projects. Most of her gifts are homemade.
Quilting became Jo’s main sewing focus around 2002, when she took her first Mystery Quilt class. In 2017, she accepted her Prayers & Squares chapter’s challenge group’s challenge to design and lead its annual Mystery Retreat. She continues to lead this retreat every year. In selecting the mystery pattern, she looks for blocks that can be pieced in multiple ways, so that even though the group is working on the same block, their projects will be individualized.
