Ash Wednesday Service: March 5 Livestream

Worship

March 5 is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent in 2025. Through the imposition of ashes on Ash Wednesday, we're reminded of the precious passage of time and the frailty of human beings. We also offer a free gift during this year's service: a book of prompts for you to meditate on throughout the season. If you can't join us in person, we also have a digital version available for download, which you can use to record your thoughts digitally or can print out at home.

Our Ash Wednesday Worship Service takes place in our sanctuary in Mission Valley and is also available via livestream online.

If you are unable to join us in person, you can pick up ashes in advance at our church office from 9 AM - 3 PM starting the week of February 24.

We invite you to worship with us via livestream – on our website or on YouTube:

Celebrate Lent, Holy Week, and Easter at First Church San Diego in Mission Valley

Additional Opportunities

The 40 days prior to Easter Sunday is known as Lent – a time of self-reflection that traditional has required us to abstain from certain activities while taking on others. But this season of Lent, First United Methodist Church of San Diego is inviting you to use the time to do something a little different by considering your story of faith, a story that you write every moment of every day. Is it the story you want to write? Join us in this journey of exploration throughout March and April.
