2025 Ash Wednesday is March 5
Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Through the imposition of ashes on Ash Wednesday, we're reminded of the precious passage of time and the frailty of human beings.
We have two opportunities to receive the ashes this year:
- Ash Wednesday Worship Service: Mar. 5, 12:15 PM | Sanctuary | Join in person or watch the livestream online.
- Pick Up Ashes in Advance: Week of Feb. 24, 9 AM - 3 PM | Church Office | If you're unable to join us in person on Mar. 5, you're welcome to pick up a packet of ashes for your use at home from our Church Office.
As a special gift as we enter into Lent, we'll be offering a free book of prompts for you to consider the story of faith that is yours. Join us in person for Ash Wednesday for a print version or download a digital copy to follow during Lent!
Participating in Ash Wednesday from home?
Here are simple instructions to follow for the imposition of ashes:
When instructed during worship, dip one of your fingers into the ashes and draw a cross on your forehead.
Say the traditional words: "Remember you are dust and to dust you will return" or "Return to God and love with your whole heart."
