A MEMORIAL SITE FOR REFLECTION & MEDITATION

The congregation of First United Methodist Church of San Diego Follows in the great tradition of Christians to minister to each other from birth to death. A portion of our church grounds is dedicated as a memorial site with a columbarium, a memorial wall, and a place for prayer and meditation.

The memorial garden is located immediately beyond the church’s “Mount of Olives” – the landscaped hill behind the Sanctuary altar window. The area is landscaped to promote a pleasant, restful, and quiet area for meditation and reflection.

Memorial Garden Details

We have two available options for honoring loved ones in our Memorial Garden.

The Columbarium

The Columbarium is located along the south and west perimeter of the garden and contains 1,080 niches. Each niche can hold two urns of appropriate size and has an engravable granite face for up to two names along with dates of birth and death.

Wall Plaques

The inner wall of the garden is the designated Memorial Wall with granite name plaques. This provides a physical location that family and friends can visit for years to come to continue to honor and remember their loved ones.

Memorial Garden Contacts
