The Ministry of Music, through its adult, children’s, and youth choirs is an integral part of the worship and discipleship ministry of First United Methodist Church. Every Sunday worshipers get to enjoy music played on the largest pipe organ in San Diego County. The ministry also sponsors the popular Cultural Events Music Series, community concerts and guest performances by nationally recognized artists and groups.

The Chancel Choir
A great opportunity to learn quality, sacred choral music from the past masters as well as music hot off the press. Musical performances presented during Sunday morning worship services.
Weekly rehearsals: Thursdays, 7–9 PM, and Sundays, 7:30–8:20 AM
The Contemporary Singers
Learn sacred choral music from a variety of contemporary styles. Musical performances are presented approximately once per month during the Sunday morning worship services.
Weekly rehearsals: Tuesdays, 6:30–7:20 PM.
The Masterwork Chorale
A renewable short-term commitment (approximately 12 weeks) to learn major sacred choral works of past and current master composers. Concerts are presented twice a year in April and December.
Weekly rehearsals: Tuesdays, 7:30–9 PM
Children’s and Youth choirs
Grades Kindergarten–5th grade
This ensemble's musical offerings are presented approximately once a month during the 9 and 10:30 AM Sunday morning worship services, and on special occasions such as the Christmas Eve Pageant, Palm Sunday, and Mother's Day.
Weekly rehearsals September—May on Sundays, 10–10:45 AM in the Children's Choir Room.
This ensemble's musical offerings are presented approximately once a month during the 9 and 10:30 AM Sunday morning worship services, and on special occasions such as the Christmas Eve Pageant, Palm Sunday, Mother's Day, and the spring musical.
