Grades 6-12

Where you can learn about Jesus, meet new friends and be yourself...

Grades 6–12

We meet every week, either in smaller groups within our own age-groups or in larger gatherings, outings and fun events. We learn about God and ourselves as we try to find out what it means to become disciples of Jesus Christ. For more information, contact Kenton Hundley, Director of Discipleship for Children and Youth

The Spiritual Gifts Get Down

10:30 - 11:30 AM  |  COVE  | High School
Sundays through September 2, 2018

No child of God is without gift or purpose; each of them is gifted to play a unique role in the body of Christ. Spiritual gifts are the grace of God at work within, giving strength to match our passions with the needs of the world around us. The Student Ministry team invites high school students to join us as we begin the journey of discovery through our Spiritual Gifts. This summer, high school students will participate in project-based activities, group discussion and real-life application designed to instill confidence and connection to self, family and community through guided exploration of Biblical text.

Kids First and Students 1st are always welcome to worship in the sanctuary with their parents at any time.

Become an Acolyte

Grades 5 - 11

Acolytes assist in sanctuary worship services year-round. They lead the choir processional, light the altar candles, receive the offering, assist in baptisms, extinguish the altar candles, and assist at special services wherever needed. Acolytes learn leadership and cooperation skills as well as symbolism in our worship services.

Candidates fifth through eleventh grades are welcome. A new acolyte schedule begins in September of each year. For further information, please contact Shanell Mondane, Acolyte Coordinator 619-297-4366 ext. 138

An opportunity for 9th-grade students to discover what it means to be a follower of Christ.

Our next confirmation class is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2019. The confirmands will meet for 20 weeks to study. The classes are approximately 1.5 hours long, along with weekend retreats, service projects, and worship opportunities together with other Christian communities and religions.

On the Saturday before Easter 2020, they will have the opportunity to publicly affirm their faith in Christ and become a member of this church. If you like to learn more, please contact Kenton Hundley, Director of Discipleship for Children and Youth.
